Difference between AR29 vs ABAW

Hello Friends,

Can someone help me in understanding the difference between AR29 vs ABAW and what are the various occasions these 2 transactions will be used?

 

Also, I have a requirement of revaluate the assets (Downward value) and make the system calculate the future depreciations upon the new values.

Please share the configuration along with the accounting entries and what type of GL accounts to be created (in case of need) and used in configuration.

ABAW to post revaluation amounts - error on Accu. depre. account

Hi,

Do we need to have the accumulated Dep. account as recon account to post revaluation amounts using ABAW transaction?

 

Scenario: I need to reduce the asset values due to the court order as one time and start calculate the system based upon the new reduced values of the assets going forward.

 

What I did:

I have configured (OABW, OAYR, AO90, OAXJ) and trying to post the revaluation using ABAW and getting error as below:

 

Account 134XXXXX is not a reconciliation account

message no. AU138

Diagnosis: Processing terminated beasue account 134XXXX (determined from account symbol KTNAFB in chart of accounts 0010) is not specified as reconciliation account for assets.

 

Procedure: Define the account as reconciliation account or assign a different account in the account determination for asset accounting.

 

This GL account has not been used in configuring the revaluation.

 

Please advise on this.......... Thanks in advance.

Change Asset Class or Asset Account Determination?

Dear SAP experts

 

We have existing asset master data with wrong account determination (and already have postings on it).

 

We are looking up option whether to modify change asset master data with the "right" account determination

or transfer the values from the "old" account determination to a "new" one.

 

It is that possible?

 

 

Notes:

In this exercise only the Expense account (for depreciation) it is affected from the old to the new account determination.

AS02 change time dependent data

Hi Guys,

 

We want to change the cost center, location and plant for assets.. now we have prepared an LSMW for change the data. Now for eg    

 

Asset 1- date of interval 15/06/2016 cost center ,plant and locations is to be changed to 1

Asset 2 (diffrent Co.code) date of interval 15/06/2016 cost center ,plant and locations is to be changed to 1

 

 

Now when i am running the LSMW in foreground. System is updating the master data but when i go to AS02 and check the assets

 

Asset 1 is updated but when i go to asset 2 system deletes the old data and updates the new one..

 

Can anyone guide why system is deleting the line time?

 

 

 

PS: Experts please give ur valuable feedback. its quite URGENT.

Depreciation calculation in AS92

Dear Experts,

 

Need your advice as depreciation value for current year acquisition for the asset is not matching.

 

Asset Acquired on 12.08.2015

Value of Asset 9740502.00

Scrap value: 487025.10

cut off date: 31.12.2015

 

Remaining days from 12.08.2015 to 31.12.2015 is 142 days

 

When I have uploaded this asset in asset using AS92 I have given the asset value in transaction field and depreciation from 12.08.2015 to 31.12.2015 in depreciation column in AS92.

 

however, system has to show the total depreciation value to be 738376.75 but after doing the transaction system is only showing depreciation amount as 736,359.33, The correct depreciation for the period 12.08.2015 to 31.12.2015 is 738376.75.

 

Can anyone guide me how to adjust the value of depreciation and arrive at the correct figure.

Hello Asset Experts,

 

For tax reasons, we need to activate statutory depreciation areas on existing assets. The assets have depreciataion areas for local and US GAAP currently whose values post to the GL. These statutory depreciation areas, which will be newly activated, are statistical only and do not result in any postings to GL accounts.

 

We need to populate an amount/value on these statutory tax dep areas that will represent the accumulated tax amount for past years on these areas. We think we need to do this by posting a value in the current fiscal year in these depreciation areas that would represent the brought-forward accumulated depreciation value for all years prior to current year.

 

Is there a transaction we can use in SAP to achieve this postings where we can limit the posting to certain depreciation areas? Or can you advise the process steps by which we can achieve this?

Dear Gurus,

 

We are uploading few assets in existing company code,The capitalization date will be 1st April 2014. We need to upload Gross block X & Acc Dep Y as on 1st April 2014. The depreciation rate Z must depreciate these assets by (X-Y)*Z every year and not X*Z as usually is. Please let us know if there is any way to do this.

 

one more example:

 

Acquisition date - 01.04.2014

 

uploading as on 31.03.2016

 

Acquistion value - 100000

 

Accumalated depreciation - 40000

 

from now depreciation base amount - 60000, depreciation should be calculate based on 60000 Rs not on 100000

Experts,

 

I am facing one problem and don't know what exactly going wrong.

 

I created one asset with number 1. posted abso in depreciation area 30 on date 31.12.2015. when in aw01n I double click on that document, fi document is generated in non leading ledger. FI AA tally.

 

I created another asset in same asset class. posted abso in depreciation area 30 date 01.01.2016. when in aw01n I double click on that document, fi document is not generated for non leading ledger. message is " it is not possible to display account from financial accounting'' FI .AA not tally

 

why system is behaving like this.

 

please guide.

Hi Experts ,

 

Could you help me to solve my issue

 

i have asset APC 1000 $ Have useful life  10 Month depreciation Start Date 01-01-2015

 

then i go through the operation and i have run the depreciation up to 30-06-2015 its calculate  accumulated   Dep= 600 $

 

then i have found the  one of the users has been retired the asset retroactive in 01-06-2016 [after the completion of june-2015 deprecation   ]

 

So when run ABST2 that i found the 100 $ as a difference , could you help how to slove my issues conidered that i have closed the previous year 2015

 

and there is no way tho open it and repeate the Deprciation for the mentioned asset .

I have an observation while creating PR against Fixed Asset and i need to understand the concept behind that loose control ?

 

- Why system is allowing us tp post multiple PRs against one same Fixed Asset, there should be any control in place which should restrict us in doing so?

i have one asset issue Running ABST2 is throwing up a variance in company code We've been able to tie this back to an asset transaction that was posted as part of the migration last year

if there anything  that can be  done to correct this error? the asset register and GL balances  reconcile with each other

Revaluated Depreciation for future Depreciation

Hi,

I have gone through many post and found similar one. But could not get answer for the same.

I assume that my issue which i am posting is already faced by many members.

 

So Please help on the same.

 

I have made necessary changes for Revaluation APC Posting. But when i run Depreciation for April 16 month i found that Revaluation Amt has posted but Revaluated Depreciation for April month and for future Deprecation month wise system is posting depreciation in ordinary depreciation combine.

 

We require ordinary depreciation should post separately and Revaluated depreciation should post separately month wise for reaming useful life of asset.

 

 

 

 

 

Please suggest.

asset transfer plant to plant in same company code

I have seen many discussion which are unclear .confused .

 


Hi expert,
This is not simple but more logic.

 

Our client requirement is transfer the asset from one plant to another plant in the same company code.

We have an asset 5 years life time , 2 years over in the 1st plant ,

Now want to transfer to the 2nd plant and the rest of the 3 years and depreciation should be calculated based on the 2nd plant .

 

Kindly suggest me that what are the prerequisite i have to do in the Spro,

For asset transfer -ABUNM

just clearly tell me that .

 

1. do I need anny GL account for plant wise to do the transfer

2. do i need to create any new asset

3. do i need any new deprciation key

4. do i need depriciation GL account

5.What are the accouting entries

Asset (receiver plant )- Dr

To Asset (sender plant)

 

Is this correct ?

Depreciation Post to New Depreciation Area

Dear Experts,

Here in below i have given my requirement.

 

We have implemented Asset for a company at 2012. At that time there was only 3 Depreciation Areas (01 Book/ 02 Tax/ 30 Group).

Now our company wants to add new Depreciation Area (40 - Management) which wants to Account postings too.

And also additionally they needs to extend the new Depreciation Area (40) for the existing assets and posting should be made with previous year depn. values consideration.

 

  • I have created new Deprecation Area (40) with all relevant setting.
  • I have run AFBN to activate new Depreciation Area (40) for the existing Assets.
  • So the new Depreciation Area (40) is activated for the exisitng Assets and Acquisition values were updated from Book Depn. Area.

 

Now we want to post Depreciaton for the new Depreciation Area for the previous years....

If i run AFAB in Test run, system proposed current year/month Depreciation value only for the new Depreciation Area (40)

 

Any once can suggest me how can i proceed for the above requirement.

01 Dep area not to be posted in new depreciation area

Hi,

 

I have a unique requirement. I created dep area new. fine. now thing is values are populated from posting in 01 to this new area for eg 12 area.

 

my requirement is I do not want any  posting from depre area 01. want to post directly to area 12.

 

in config if I do not tick real time dep, system is considering as derived depreciation area.

 

is my requirement possible ? if yes please guide how to achieve this and also it should not post to ledger.

ASKBN and ASKBND T codes posted issue at header level with ASKBN t code

HI All,

 

Documents have posted by using ASKBN transaction code. Header Level most of the documents have updated with ASKBND T code. But also few documents have updated with ASKBN T code also.

 

Could you help me on what basis these documents have posted with different t code, even if we are posting through ASKBN.

 

Note: ASKBND is not a t code in SAP.

 

Attached same documents herewith for your reference.

Down payment clearing a/c with reference to the PO

Dear Gurus,

 

I have a query here. Before posting I have gone through related to the same but no luck.

 

Hence posting the new thread.

 

Query here is : We made the PO field mandatory during F-48, when the user is entering the PO number the system is showing the Error message saying: Accounts down-payment could not be found for area 01.

 

The Solution for this is Assigning of the Clearing down payment GL in A090. But the concern here is the user is saying that he will not give the GL for the same.

 

So, how to approach the same. Any help on this is really appreciated.
